We are excited to be at Hawk Haven Vineyards and Winery on Sunday. Following is information to help make your day a wonderful day! Please read through, and as always, if you have any questions, you may reach out to ken@gooddayforarun.com.
Location: Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery – 600 S. Railroad Ave, Rio Grande, NJ 08242
Race Time: October 18th – 5K starts at 9am, 1 Mile Fun Run starts at 9:50am.
Party Time: From 9:30-12:00, enjoy the live sounds of Greg Jones, wine, some food, awards and good times. After noon, feel free to continue your stay as the vineyard will be open all day! There is a beautiful tented patio and open patio with tables for your enjoyment. But also, feel free to bring lawn chairs if you would like, as there is lots of overflow space near the vines to sit back and relax! We will have some Pumpkin Painting supplies available too!
Arrival: Please be ready to run by 8:45am. We will have pre race music, course instruction, and Live National Anthem starting at about 8:50am.
Parking: Free – You will be directed into a parking area once you turn into the driveway.
Packet Pick Up: Please arrive on race day between 7:15am-8:40am to receive your shirt and race bib.
Same Day Registration: Depending on space and shirt availability, we will accept same day race registration between 7:15am-8:30am. (While we order extra shirts, shirts may not be guaranteed for same day registration.) Cash Only Please.
Course: The course is all off road, well marked, and has course marshals at important turns. We will have a water station at the midway point and finish line. While the course is off road, trail running shoes are not necessary. Normal running shoes will work well.
Obstacles: There are 3 obstacle challenges which are all fun, festive, and not too difficult. Please note that you may bypasses if you choose, but most participants should feel confident in taking part. Obstacle 1: Barrel Climb; Obstacle 2: Cornstalk Crawl; Obstacle 3: Run Pumpkin Run. Obstacles are available for both the 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run.
Results Link: We will have race results available on the Hawk Haven Page of www.GoodDayforaRun.com within hours of the race.
Post Run Wine: Yeah!!! All runners after completing the run will be given a Run the Vineyards wine glass (yours to keep) and you will have a drink ticket in the glass. Please redeem the ticket for either a glass of wine or a tasting of several wines.
Please note that Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery may ask for ID before serving – so please be prepared to show ID if asked.
NO Outside Wine or Beer is Permitted – per licensing laws. Non-alcoholic beverages are fine.
Post Run Food: We will have bananas available for runners after the run. Hawk Haven will also be offering some hot food for purchase. Also, please know that you can bring your own food if you choose.
Awards: We will present awards at about 10:00am. Awards are presented to top 3 men and women overall, plus top 3 per age group (every 10 years).
Spectators: We love when family and friends come to cheer on and support the runners. Any guest who wants to enjoy wine with you will be asked to pay the tasting fee. That fee can be paid directly to the winery.
Photos: We will have a professional photographer on-site, and pictures will be available for FREE download. We will email you and post on Facebook and Website the direct link when available – usually within 1 day.
