Penns Woods Autumn Trail 8K/5K- FAQs and Packet Pickup Info

Following is important Race Day and Packet Pickup Info to help make your Run the Vineyards experience amazing!

  • Race Date – September 14th is the date for both the 8K and 5K events. You MUST run ONLY the distance you registered for. Otherwise your bib will not be recognized and your results will be DNF. If you registered for BOTH races, please be sure to wear the correct bib for each race – and ONLY that bib. If you wear BOTH bibs for the 8K, the result will be DNF for the 5K race. 
  • Start Times:
    • The 8K Race starts at 8:30am sharp.  Please arrive by 8am. Runners/Walkers should complete the 8K within 90 minutes.
    • The 5K Race starts at 10am sharp.
  • Location – Penns Wood Winery, located at 124 Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford, PA. 19317.
  • Parking – There is plenty of Free Parking on property. However, car pooling is recommended. Please note that there will be limited access to some of the parking areas until 11am. If you plan to leave before 11am, please let the parking attendant know so they can discuss options. We will try to park most cars in areas that are not going to be an issue. 
  • Packet Pickup Options – Please note, YOU MAY PICK UP FOR OTHERS.
    • September 13th from  4-6:00pm –  Philadelphia Runner – Glen Eagle Square, Glenn Mills PA.
    • Race Morning – Packet Pick Up is available at Penns Woods Winery from 7:15-9:30am (The 8K participants should plan to pick up by 8am.)
  • Timing – Both races are chip timed, which means you will be timed from the time you cross the start line and then cross the finish line. Results will be emailed to you. They will also be available on this website. Results will also be available at the finish line via computer kiosks.
  • Course – This is an “off road course” consisting of short cut grass and a half mile of wooded trails. The wooded trails are moderately technical and depending on weather… WET. Please do not wear you favorite running shoes if you do not want them to get dirty.  
  • Complimentary Wine – All 21 Plus runners will receive a complimentary glass of wine. Runners under 21 can donate their ticket to an adult, or redeem for a grape juice – the closest thing to wine! 🙂
  • Beer Vendor – We are pleased to announce that La Cabra Brewing will be on-site with local craft Beer for sale. 
  • Awards – We acknowledge the fastest 3 overall runners and top 3 runners per age group (each gender) by providing medals.  Overall Awards are based on “Gun time” and Age Group Winners  are based on “Chip Time”.  Therefor, if you are competing for an overall award, it is important that you start near the front of the pack.
  • Photos – We are pleased to provide Free Downloadable Photos for our races.  We will email you the link and post on Facebook.
  • Bag Check – We offer bag check at our races for the run. Please note that the bag check concludes 15 minutes after the last participator has crossed the finish line.
  • Alcohol – NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS PERMITTED PER STATE LAW.
  • Food Vendors – We will have a food vendor available to purchase food for your enjoyment. You are also welcome to bring your own food for picnicking.
  • Lawn Chairs – While there are many seating options available for our runners. There is also plenty of space available to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets for the post run party.
  • Rain or Shine! In the event of thunder storms, the race will be postponed up to 1 hour.
  • No refunds or transfers are permitted.
  • No Strollers on Course
  • No dogs on course please.
  • Leashed pets are permitted at festival 
  • Please bring valid ID for ID Check. ID check will be available prior to race.
